Details of Tree Donation - for each non-ornament item purchased, a tree seedling will be donated in February/March of the following year to a Pacific Northwest nonprofit or local governmental entity.  The reason for this time of donation is that most seedlings are harvested at tree nurseries in January/February.  The tree seedlings are then planted in February/April when the soil is soft and damp, giving the tree seedlings the opportunity to settle-in and adjust before the tree growing season arrives.  So donation in February/March ensures tree seedling availability and maximizes tree seedling survivability.
